Breakout Ministries, Inc. – a Christian Ministry Focused on the Evangelism, Education and Support of Inmates and their Families

Breakout Ministries is a nonprofit evangelical organization devoted to the evangelism, education and support of individuals that are or have been incarcerated in our nation’s jail and prison systems. An important part of this ministry includes the evangelism, education and support of the inmate’s family members, with special focus on families with young children. There are very few charities, and even fewer Christian ministries, that help incarcerated individuals (convicts and those awaiting trial) or there families. Sadly, the people that may need God the most have unquestionably the least amount of Christian resources directed to meeting there spiritual (or physical) needs. Hundreds of thousands of lost men and women languish in jails and prisons in desperate need of the good news of Jesus Christ. Moreover, most inmates have one or more family members on the outside that struggle every day to meet the most basic of needs like food and clothing. The majority of incarcerated individuals have young children that live well below the poverty line. Breakout’s mission is to evangelize and support convicts and their families that need Jesus and Christian love and support. The activities of the ministry range from basic communication support to designated monetary support. Anyone who has ever been in jail will tell you how uplifting it is to receive a hand written letter, and how encouraging it is to have someone on the outside with whom they can communicate both fears and joys. Above all, the primary goal of Breakout is to communicate the Biblical message of eternal salvation through the death and resurrection of Jesus, and then to support an inmate and his or her family through Christian growth and maturity.
